Anerkanntermaßen stellt das Konzept des Knowledge Management einen entscheidenden Gewinn für den Informationsprofi dar. Management-Theorien betonen immer die wichtige Rolle von Bibliotheken und Bibliothekare in der Praxis von Organisationen (Unternehmen, Städte aber auch die gesamte Gesellschaft). Die in diesem Band enthaltenen Beiträge demonstrieren dies aus der Sicht der Bibliotheken.
